Rural Roots is our time capsule weekend with history and delights of the season: pick-your-own apples, draft horse rides, knife forging, and fall activities for all ages. Learn the interesting history of our third-generation orchards from the Gammie family and how to start homesteading from vendors like the Sourdough lady and [other vendors]. Come hungry for fritter sundaes with Quarry Cones Real Fruit Ice Cream, spiced apple cider, and caramel apples and food from our friends at Chuckwagon Chili. Boots, jeans and a hat are recommended to learn how to live off the land!

Wagon Rides

Our shiny red wagon will venture through our orchards and adjacent Edison Woods MetroPark.  Enjoy fall colors at their peak and soak up the flora and fauna of the restored native grasslands.  Please purchase a ticket for before you board! Have cash ready, or buy tickets via credit card at the registers (ages 0-2 ride for free). All aboard!!

Apple Picking

Available from 10am – 5pm; look for the white tent on the back lawn with the big PICK YOUR OWN banner; get some direction from our staff (including a highlighted map), purchase your picking bag, snag a wagon and you’re ready to go!
