EARTH TO TABLE DINNER AT CULINARY VEGETABLE INSTITUTE – AUGUST 19, 2017
CVI Chef Jamie Simpson will prepare a multi-course dinner at the Culinary Vegetable Institute that pairs his creative vision with ingredients that have all traveled distances that we suppose could be measured in acres rather than miles. Served family style, the platters will brim with peaches, nectarines, brambles, early pears, and summer apples- all picked straight from Quarry Hill Orchards and still warm from the sun. Side by side on the menu will be the tomatoes, squash, beans – potentially the expression of the entirety of the 800 varieties of vegetables from the soil of The Chef’s Garden – full summer and early fall converging at the most bountiful time on the farm. Tables will be set outdoors, and dressed with flowers grown from seed on the Quarry Hill grounds by Marilla Field and Flora (Ben’s sister Adrianne Gammie and first generation flower farmer). Purchase tickets here.
