Annual Newsletter 1996
What season is it? What time is it? The phone is for whom? When do you have to be there? Like the harried “Loser” we often find ourselves in a rush. A former miruster of our local congregation once said that “you can always find the time to do the things you want to do”. His wisdom ran deep.
Adrianne just came home from a student council camp. Ben will return tomorrow from one camp and then to wrestling camp next week. We see them spreading out from childhood into a maturity that longs for independence. Time out to listen to them and to one another.
Bill claims to deter some parental responsibility (that is, not going to Adrianne’s ball games 3 nights a week) for the greater good of us all (that is. sometimes the farm comes first). It can be a point of significant debate. Yet. when we come home an “I miss you” can generate a tear like little else. It has been said, “Marvel the moment.”
The approaching season will “give” us another dimension upon which to grow. The weather is always a concern, but why do we spend time on issues we can do little about?
Crops are modest. Poor pollination at bloom affected the apples but peaches look good. We are hopeful. Here’s what”s ahead:
